For an indulgent and malaria-free retreat, Bayethe Tented Lodge at Shamwari beckons. Nestled seamlessly amidst lush foliage, this tented paradise provides guests with a profound sense of tranquillity and seclusion, all while offering breathtaking views of the African bush. The lodge features 12 Blended Canvas Suites, ensuring unparalleled privacy and exceptional comfort for a maximum of two adults per tent.
The Bayethe Blended Canvas Suites consist of 12 private tents tucked away under trees for maximum privacy and comfort. These tents can be configured with either twin or king-sized beds, accommodating a maximum of two adults. Each suite boasts a private plunge pool, deck, indoor fireplace, minibar, air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities, and an electronic safe. Additional amenities include international adapters, a telephone, and electric blankets. The en-suite bathrooms vary, with nine suites featuring an indoor bath and outdoor shower, and three having an indoor bath and shower. These well-appointed tents offer a perfect blend of natural serenity and contemporary luxury.
At Shamwari Private Game Reserve, we offer 5-star luxury accommodation and exceptional wildlife experiences. Our morning and afternoon game drives provide the opportunity to see animals at their most active. Led by knowledgeable rangers, our open and comfortable vehicles offer panoramic views of the area. You can inform your guide if you have specific interests, and they’ll do their best to accommodate them.
To ensure your comfort during the approximately 3 to 4-hour drives, we recommend bringing binoculars, cameras, warm clothing, sunscreen, and a hat. The morning drive includes a coffee stop, while the evening drive features a sundowner stop. Our expert rangers are available to answer your questions and assist in spotting particular species or exploring specific areas.

In addition to spectacular game drives, Shamwari Game Reserve also offers professionally guided walking tours. Here, you can gain a true perspective of the flora and fauna indigenous to the region. Your guide can point out animal tracks, dung, hiding spots, rare birds and educate you on the area and its history.
Unfortunately, no children under the age of 16 or adults over the age of 65 (unless provided with a doctor’s certificate of fitness) are permitted on these walks.
