In the 2-night package, guests will enjoy two afternoon game drives with snacks and a sundowner, immersing themselves in the Reserve’s wildlife. Additionally, two early morning game drives are included, accompanied by coffee and a muffin to kickstart the day.
For the Tuskers 3-Day Safari, guests are treated to three afternoon game drives within the Reserve, complemented by snacks and a sundowner experience. The package also features a morning game drive into the nearby Addo Elephant National Park, renowned for hosting the highest density of African Elephants globally. Now boasting Big 5 status, a visit to this park promises an exhilarating morning adventure. The package further offers two additional morning drives within the Reserve, ensuring a comprehensive and thrilling safari experience.
Embark on an enriching adventure with Walking Trails led by a FGASA accredited Professional Trails Guide and a Specialist Birding Guide (SKS Birding Thicket Biome). Guests have the unique opportunity to explore off the conventional paths, tracing the intricate trails left by elephants and rhinos in this ancient landscape. Lucky participants may even have the chance to track and witness these majestic African giants. Beyond that, the walking trails offer encounters with numerous small creatures, unveiling their tracks and signs up close.
The duration of the walking trails is 2 to 3 hours, and guests are advised to arrange this experience with the lodge before arrival.
Explore the Amakhala Game Reserve on horseback with Amakhala Horse Trails, catering to small groups of up to 6 riders with intermediate to experienced skills. Accompanied by a parent or guardian, experienced younger riders aged 10 to 15 are also welcome. The horseback safaris, lasting two to three hours, adapt the trail ride speed to the riders’ experience level. This ensures ample time for wildlife observation and finding idyllic spots to rest the horses while indulging in refreshments and snacks.
The horse trails are flexible, with arrangements to be made with the lodge before arrival. Riders should come prepared with appropriate clothing, including long pants and suitable shoes. Riding helmets will be provided for added safety.
